Stay Focused

An absolutely gorgeous layout by Melissa Mann!

I used the Prima packaging that the crocheted flower came in.  It had these beautiful doily patterns on the clear acrylic backing of the package.  There were only halves of the doilies, but once I cut them out, I just stuck them "underneath paper and you would never know!

Now Cook This

A fun and beautiful layout by Melissa Mann!

I accidentally discovered a quick, easy way to add a little spice to a layout that has a piece of paper with a straight edge is to take a punch (I used the Martha Stewart starburst punch) to take a "bite" off the edge.  I also did this on the journaling card that I typed on.  It just adds a touch of variety and yet still ties in with all of the punched circles on the left hand side of the layout.
*This layout was inspired by a layout done by Jen Jockisch.*

Snow product review

A quick review featuring the new SNOW products in the store - you can decide which is best for you.

Snow-Tex is the most like paint. It feels like paint when applying and has small chunks of texture resembling stucco.
I applied with a brush, but a palette knife works too.
A deep rich white color which takes paint well if you want to change the color for different projects, like brown for tree trunks, wood, or creamy beige for a layout with less white.

A foam texture snow, so you can get peaks with a popsicle stick application.
I added Ranger Perfect pearls and Tattered Angels Glam to mine for different colors.

Arlene's Glitter Snow is just like True Snow, but with a touch of glitter.  You can add Diamond Dust over the top of it when you want lots of icy pieces.

This is very thick and I would recommend a popsicle stick to apply. This has a chunky texture. Great for an icy snow look.  I loved using this with Art Glitter (pink) sprinkled over it while still wet, for girly scrapping.

All 4 work well, way fun to play with, but each for different purposes.  For soft snow mounds use True snow, Icy steps Fantasy, Snow tex is the most multi purpose but lacks the unique texture of the others.

Suggestion -  paint/swab a sample right onto the label on the conainer - you'll have the texture right there on the bottle for the next time you use it.
This quick video shows the snows at the end.

Cassie

A Beautiful layout from the very talented Lynette Davis.
I decided to scrap my cousin Cassie in my latest creation. She posted some of her Senior pics. on her facebook page and this one was my favorite. The first time I met Cassie she was just a little girl. Now she's growing up and getting ready to graduate High School already.

Carefree

A beautiful layout by Julie Tucker-Wolek!

A tip I would like to share on how I made this LO! :)  To make my Maya Road Kraft Dollies go further on my page, I cut them all in half and then 'pretended' to tuck them under my papers.  That was it appears that I have used 4 of them on this page, when it is only 2 whole ones cut in half! You can see that I did that also with the Jillibean journal tag! :):):):):):):):):):):):):)
