I finished this layout sort of... Once I found this picture, which I like because it was sewing related. I sewed my daughter this mini sling for her dolls to match her baby sling I had made for myself. Now we each have one for our baby dolls-LOL.

I thought I should use some of the fabric from the sling, but after rummaging all through the house -I can't find it. Elsie was playing with it, so she probably has it tucked in somewhere. To finish this layout I want to use that fabric and sew it on the page. I'm going to sew on the photograph and let the edges hang open.
I used a 7gypies tag and a 97% Complete Sticker for the window.
The gaffer tape would immediately go on the hem of my jeans...because I can't resist decorating ANYTHING! But when I found I quiet cafe, no doubt that roll of gaffer tape would come out and sit on my table to be torn and adhered to the pages of my art journal while I sipped a latte and dreamed of Paris!
ReplyDeleteLove the layout! AND -- how cute is she with her little "sling!?!?!?"
Did you say gaffer tape....my favorite...I know I would take the tape and add it to the the beautiful scarf that adorns my neck!!!!! I would then add a bit to the cuff of my sleeve.....and then head to my favorite spot to listen to music and dance!!!! Dance and sway with my beautiful scarf!!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore the Lo....such great colors and detail!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! I adore Blue Moon!!!
First, I would use some on my latte cup, then I would use the tape to patch up my overfull hobo bag, to keep my journals and paintbrushes from spilling out.
ReplyDeleteHmmm....I think I'd use on the edges of my cards and gift bags....perhaps make it look like old worn leather with some distressing ink that I'd already conveniently have in my purse...
ReplyDeleteAbby:)
Hoard it! :)
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! I have been wanting to get my hands on the 7 gypsies "Stripe" Gaffer Tape for some time now to go on the edges of a mini album I have on mind to make. It would be SO perfect!
ReplyDeleteOk, I am still so new as a scrapbooker that I did not know what gaffer tape was! I had to look it up. Wow, was I surprised to find out what it was. According to what I read about it, this stuff would be great to take on a trip. I would take it along to dress up some jeans/pants or to patch a tear (how much cuter and easier would this be rather than just using some thread and a needle)! I would also have it handy for any emergencies with my journal or just to embellish it or my scrapbook. Thanks again for the opportunity to play along!
ReplyDeleteI have never used gaffer tape, but I think I would use some cardstock and paper and make a mini album/travel journal.
ReplyDeleteRun away with it and head for my safe deposit box!Later I would edge the pockets of a jean jacket and make the cover of an album of grandkids pix. And then...

ReplyDeleteIf I have it already, since Ihave a lot of 7g gaffer tape, I would use the one picked up for decorate a spine or something, but if I don't alreay have it, it goes onto the wall for decoration :)
ReplyDeleteI would probably use the gaffer tape on everything! Until I run out, of course. But, I was thinking a LO of my grandson, showing how much he has grown over the last year!
ReplyDeleteI do love the LO, even if you are not finished with it. Too cute!!
I haven't used any gaffer tape yet, even though I have some. I guess I would use it for journal bindings, or as a border on cards.
ReplyDeleteI think I will wrap some around the waist of my white, soft flowing dress and use it as a belt. Then I will use a piece as a headband to keep my hair from blowing in my eyes as I walk the beautiful countryside. The gaffer tape comes in so many wonderful patterns that I'm sure it will compliment my white cotton dress.
ReplyDeleteI would use it to build a fort by taping a sheet around our kitchen table and my grandson and I could sit beneath and dream that we are in an enchanted forest fishing - and the lake is filled with gaffer tape!
ReplyDeleteI would most certainly use the tape in layouts. But, there would be so many other uses for it. But, I definitely would not be using 7 gypsies gaffer tape to repair my muffler,....I'm just not that frivolous!
ReplyDeleteI would use the 7g gaffer tape to decorate my my canvas totes, and of course put some on the handles too because they are filled to the brim with paper and embellies! And after I'm finished shopping, I think I'll use some on the journal you asked about yesterday!
ReplyDeleteUse it as picture frames on my next scrapbook layout of the Eiffel tower!
ReplyDeleteGaffer tape! Great find! I've collected so many little bits I want to save... the theater ticket stubs, the receipt for that wonderful dinner in Paris!. I tucked them all into clear envelopes, and now, I can use the gaffer tape to attach them to pages in my journal!
ReplyDeleteI would grab it and start decoration everything in sight!!
ReplyDeleteI would take the gaffer tape and use some of it to bind my mementos together as I am sipping my latte. I would then take a pen and use a little of it to write a quick note journaling some of my adventures. The rest would be given to random people on te street to share and enjoy as I have. After all what fun is it to have something if you cannot share it.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet lO he sling is adorable.
Could not go on a gypsy trip without my camera so I would definitely use some to decorate my camera bag and my camera strap.
ReplyDeletesipping my latte and doodling in my dream book......I'm sure I would be tempted to use it on my book and on my cup and wait I think my purse could use some dressing up too!
ReplyDeleteBy this time my travel journal would be about ready to fall apart, so I would use the gaffer's tape to hold it together and decorate it at the same time. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe gaffer tape would be awesome!!! I will use it on my altered notebook edges and also use some distressed ink!
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance!
I will probably use it as a border for the LO of my daughters!
ReplyDeleteI love the gaffer tape. I love it for everything. Nothing is safe when there is gaffers tape in the house. It goes on everything!
ReplyDeleteI would put mine on a mini, and also to attach 2 scrap pieces of my gypsie pps to create 1 wonderful piece of yummy-ness (is that a word?!).
ReplyDeleteI'd probably share a piece with my fellow gypsie for emergencies too. ha!
I will use it on the hems of my jeans!! and some on my LO's as embellishments! and decorate my journal with it!
ReplyDeleteI have the sweetest little mini in the works...I would take the gaffer tape and edge all of my different pages to give it continuity as well as beauty...All this Gypsy traveling this week has been fun. Now it is time to unravel my gaffer tape find from the paperie and get started on finishing my mini!!
ReplyDeleteI would have to put the measuring tape along the door of the cafe I cleaned up to go in for, so I could spot the right size person to follow cuz I need some new clothes! But then I'd have to tantalize them with my skills and use the rest of my tape to empress them enough to 'trust' me so it's not so hard to coax the trade of clothes. OK I'm going too far now. lol
ReplyDeleteI would make some fun-funky-gorgeous bracelets, go back to the middle of town to try and sell them, then go back to the little shop to stock up on more 7gypsies products!
ReplyDeleteI would use the gaffer tape to decorate my journal that describes the journeys that I am taking. I would also use it for adding some decoration to my skirt for adding color and texture.
ReplyDeletei think i might use some of the gaffer tape to tape up some of my luggage. i bet it would be tattered and in need of some repairs from my long journeys ;p'. i would also use it to tape my journal book, which contains goodies from all my journeys.
ReplyDeletehappy friday!
much aloha~!
I will use it to make my own mini album/journal and then use it to decorate the cover of my album!
ReplyDeleteIf I have the gaffer tape...I will use it to decorate it everything which can be decorated !!!
ReplyDeleteI woudl use the gaffer tape to frame pictures of my journey in my scrapbook, write journaling above it or maybe even on it depending on the color/print, and/or use it over the the binding on my trip journal for decoration.
ReplyDeleteI am going to create as many mini-books as I can get out of it :)
ReplyDeleteGee... wonder if there is gaffers tape in heaven... I hope so. I would make jewelry. Rummaging around I come across cardboard tubes and I cut for bangles and then wrap that beautiful tape around to adorn my arms...
ReplyDeleteWrap it around my upper arm and wear it as an armband!
ReplyDeleteI would use my newly found gaffer tape on my old gypsy van's windows so when i drive around everyone knows I have gypsy pride!
ReplyDeleteI have not ever used gaffer tape since I am new to scrapbooking. From what I have read, I would like to use it to alter a journal of notes. Could I use it to bookmark pages? Different tape for different topics.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see who wins this time?
I think I would probably use it on the binding and edges of the book I was making about my travels as a gypsy.
ReplyDeleteHmmm....I would find a way to add it to my Halloween costume....can't be a gypsy without gaffer tape!
ReplyDeleteIt would immediately go on to the journal pages I am writing in, and would probably cover the entire cover of my journal which I would then ink to distress it.
ReplyDeleteI have a collection of 4 rolls but mainly just stare dreamily at them.
ReplyDeleteI would use it in the Paris mini album that I'm currently working on.
ReplyDeletei would use it to decorate the spine on mt travel journal.
ReplyDeleteAs I wandered into the side street, I suddenly kicked something with my foot....
ReplyDeleteIt rolled right into a drain on the curb. Kneeling down and peeking into the drain...I had suddenly found a crowd peering there with me~
Inside that drain...in the little side street...somewhere in Italy....was a sight to behold....
Filled to the Brim with rolls of gaffer tape. Everyone around was able have a roll. Gaffer decorating Party started! Some place it on their travel journal binders...some lined the pages of phone books in near by phone booths.
The side street became a colorful adornment of gaffer tape all over!
And..with my last little bit, I taped the hole in the store owners shirt pocket which made all of us SMILE! :c)
Enjoyed Marion's video....now I know what the border punch is used for! :c)
I am going to use the gaffer tape to wrap my Christmas silk plants together as well to tape the christmas wrapping together:)Or better yet, make a X'mas garland out of it and drap it over my fireplace mantle!
ReplyDeleteIf I were a gypsy I would probably need the tape to mend my clothes.. but if that weren't the case then I would use it to decorate (clothes, bags, furniture, anything). Love the layout!
ReplyDeleteI would use it to decorate my "oh so boring" camera strap into something fabulous! Then I would use the remainder on a journal binding. I would keep the journal in my camera bag where I would keep all my notes on camera settings.
ReplyDeletedefinitely I would use it on journals for gifts and on cards for my friends and family.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun!
I'd probably cut it up and use it as many times and in as many cards and los as possible...I might even keep some for some future project that's still waiting to be made!
ReplyDeletePut it on my scrapbook.
ReplyDeleteFirst I would tape my husbands mouth shut so I would have so quiet to make a cute book showcasing my sons new "first home"
ReplyDeleteI would use on my scrapbook pages and if it was wide cut it into shapes also. also use it on my cards when i make them for the borders. plus if a hem came down on a skirt of mine what a quickie sewing this would be for me.
ReplyDeleteI would use it as a binder and I would scream if I win because I have none to use as a binder now.
ReplyDeleteI can't resist. I've never used gaffer tape so I just gotta try it.
ReplyDeleteI definely know that I would add it to my altered art journal I have been working on all year between making cards and etc. The tape would add that one last bit of wow to my album.
ReplyDeleteWell I would for one thing like to make some handmade journals for my teenagers and possibly a bunch of other crafts with it. I want to try using it with some yummy duct tape also and make a purse or wallet.
ReplyDeleteI've never used any of it, but I am so sure that I would use it to do some trimming on my album!
ReplyDeleteI think I've been watching too much Project Runway...because I'd use it to embellish my clothes.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to use for cards!
